Welcome to Equ.aL. We are Equator Alliance Pte Ltd. It is important to us that you feel safe when using our website, platforms and services (collectively referred to as “Sites”). At Equ.aL, you have choices and control in how we handle your personal data. This Privacy Policy includes important information about your personal data and we encourage you to read it carefully. 

 

“Equ.aL”, “we”, “our” or “us” means the Equ.aL entity responsible for the collection and use of personal data under this Privacy Policy. Equ.aL reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to alter and update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We therefore invite you to review the current version of the Privacy Policy each time you return to our Sites.  

 

1. CUSTOMER-FOCUSED INNOVATION

When we collect and use your data, it’s always in the interest of delivering exceptional services and improving your experience. We collect information and data from you in two ways. First, we collect information you manually provide to us, including registration information like your name and email address. However, in these situations, we do not disclose to these entities any information that could be used to personally identify you.  

 

By browsing our Sites and submitting this information to us, you explicitly agree to Equ.aL using your personal data for the purposes and in the manner described in this Privacy Policy. Please do not send us any information you do not wish Equ.aL to use. 

 

3. BASIS OF PROCESSING YOUR PERSONAL DATA

  • in part, on our legitimate interests in promoting and protecting Equ.aL, building and maintaining relationships, recruitment, better respond to inquiries, send service notices and provide customer support and to develop new products and services; 

  • in part, on your consent, for example if you register for our newsletters or alerts, or for business purposes that support web operations such as understanding and enhancing the quality of your experience on our Sites, to constantly improve our website to ensure that content is presented in the most effective manner;

  • To prevent fraud against Equ.aL, our subsidiaries, affiliates and/or business partners;

In addition, we may disclose or transfer your personal data in the event of a re-organization, merger, sale, joint venture, assignment, or other transfer or disposition of all or any portion of our business.

 

5. USER FORUMS

You should be aware that whenever you publicly disclose information online, that information could be collected and used by others. Equ.aL is not responsible for any action or policies of any third parties who collect information that users publicly disclose in any such forums on the Sites.

 

6. LINK TO THIRD PARTY SITES

Equ.aL may provide links to third party websites or information as a service to our users. If you use these links, you will leave the Sites. Such links do not constitute or imply an endorsement, sponsorship, or recommendation by Equ.aL of the third party, the third-party website, or the information contained therein, and Equ.aL shall not be responsible or liable for your use thereof. They are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Equ.aL does not bear any liability and responsibility for the content or your use of these websites. 

 

7. SOCIAL NETWORKING

The Sites may make available certain features and functionality that allow you to sign into our Sites using third party login credentials (such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Line, Telegram and others) or access certain third-party services. Any data you submit to any third-party services will be subject to the terms of service and privacy policy of such third-party services.

 

By associating your social network account with Equ.aL or logging in to a Equ.aL account using your social network account credentials, you give us permission to access information that you have made available in your public profile for that social network account. The information may include your email address, real name, profile picture, gender, and location. 

 

8. SECURITY

Equ.aL considers protecting the security of your data a key responsibility and we have implemented generally accepted standards of technology and operational security to protect personal data from loss, misuse, alteration, or destruction. Such measures include anonymizing or pseudonymizing data where possible. Authorized Equ.aL personnel and third parties mentioned above will only have access to your personal data to the extent they need it to do their job or provide their services. These employees and service providers are required to treat this information as confidential. Please be aware, however, that no method of transmitting information over the Internet or storing information is completely secure or safe. Accordingly, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of any information or that unauthorized persons will not obtain access to your personal data.  

 

9. DATA RETENTION

Equ.aL may retain the personal data we collect from you as described in this Privacy Policy for as long as you use our Sites & services or as necessary to fulfil the purpose(s) for which it was collected, provide our services, resolve disputes, establish legal defences, conduct audits, pursue our legitimate interests, for our business or commercial purposes, enforce our agreements, and comply with applicable laws. If you request that we delete your personal data, Equ.aL will make reasonable attempts to delete all instances of the information in their entirety. 

 

10. CHILDREN

The Sites are not designed for or directed at children 16 years of age or younger, and Equ.aL does not intentionally collect or maintain personal data about anyone under this age. 

 

11. YOUR RIGHTS

​

Where granted by applicable law, you may have the right to request access to the personal data that we have collected about you for the purposes of reviewing, modifying, or requesting deletion of the data. You may also have the right to request a copy of the personal data that we have collected about you and to have any inaccuracies in that data corrected. In certain circumstances, you may also request that we cease processing your personal data. 

 

12. UNSUBSCRIBE

If you have registered for Equ.aL newsletter or alerts, or you receive invitations to survey or events from Equ.aL and you prefer not to receive future email communications from us, please review the communications settings in your profile on equal.com.sg, follow the instructions on the page of the Site where you have provided such information, subscribed or registered or write to unsub@equal.com.sg to unsubscribe from all Equ.aL communications.
